Vessel Cleaning
From time to time, tanks and other vessels require cleaning, alterations and/or closure. AGES utilizes the latest equipment and technology to address client projects. Our personnel are able to quickly and safely complete complex and difficult tasks to bring about project objectives. Our crews have extensive experience with all types of industrial vessel cleaning and upgrades to existing vessels. In the event that the equipment requires closure or retirement, we can provide these services as well.
Design and Maintenance of Facility Water Treatment Systems
PCBs, hydrocarbon and other contamination are common concerns at natural gas compressor stations. The infiltration of this contaminated water into the basements of on-site structures can cause issues with permitted discharges and/or disposal of the waste. AGES has the experience and knowledge to design, install and maintain facility water treatment systems to efficiently remove contaminants. Once the system has been designed and installed, we can also provide operational and maintenance services, including sampling.
Impacted Sludge Removal
Periodically, it is necessary to remove sludge from tanks, pits, ponds and other areas for routine housekeeping or creating a safer work environment for project crews in certain areas. AGES has over 20 years of experience with impacted sludge removal and we utilize the latest technology to facilitate waste removal with efficient and cost-effective approaches. In addition to removal, we will also coordinate the transportation of accumulated sludge to a properly permitted waste disposal facility.
Oil/Water Separator Cleaning and Maintenance
AGES offers cleaning and maintenance services for oil/water separators, as well as other large tanks and containers. In general accordance with the Code of Federal Regulations, we clean oil/water separators by flushing internal surfaces three times with an approved solvent. In each rinse, we use a volume of flushing solvent that is equal to approximately 10 percent of the tank or container capacity. There are a variety of approved solvents that can be used to clean oil/water separators. These cleaning procedures may be modified slightly based on conditions encountered in the field.
We also offer an oil/water separator maintenance service. Prior to disposal through a client-approved disposal facility, we sample all tank liquids for several parameters on a routine basis and we coordinate the shipping and disposal of liquids.
Drain line Cleaning, Maintenance and Upgrades
AGES will clean, maintain or upgrade any impacted drain lines or lines leading to and from an impacted sump. Prior to cleaning, we will vacuum accumulated fluids and sediment from the lines. If needed, we will scrub the inlets and outlets with wire brushes to remove scale. To collect cleaning fluids, we will stage appropriate tanks on polyethylene at the discharge end of the line. We will then double-wash and rinse each line with a jet-tool in general accordance with the procedure specified in the Code of Federal Regulations. All cleaning fluids will be collected and containerized for later disposal. There are a variety of approved solvents that can be used to clean drain lines. The cleaning procedure may be modified slightly based on field conditions.
After cleaning, we will collect samples of the effluent and mass wipe samples of the inlet and outlet (if needed) for analysis. We will continue cleaning until the results of the effluent are below the program-specific action level. If cleaning to achieve these standards is not cost-effective or feasible, you may opt to remove, abandon in place, and/or replace sumps or drain lines in lieu of cleaning. We can help you with that as well.
